Technology Trends for 2023 and Beyond

Recently, McKinsey released a detailed report detailing the Technology Trends for 2022 and beyond. They also provided a detailed analysis of each of the trends and the impact that each of these trends are having on the world economy. Although the trends are still quite high-level, they do provide a good glimpse of what’s hot in technology and where the world is heading. You can read more on the detailed McKinsey report here.

Advanced Connectivity

These refer to networking technologies that are enabling the new generation of cloud-enabled applications and others to communicate with each other and with the users of those applications. Technologies in this realm include 5G/6G enabled cellular and wireless communications, wireless low power networks enabling IoT connectivity, next generation of Wi-Fi technologies (e.g. Wi-Fi 6), Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites-based communications, and optical networks.
